About the Book
This book revolves around Sandyamit, a young and courageous girl from Sikkim, who, on a visit to a remote village in Madhya Pradesh, undertakes almost an impossible mission to save fourteen children from certain death who have consumed some poisonous fruits. There are no means of telecommunication and transportation and the nearest town from where a doctor can be called is about 42 kms. Worst of all, the children have only 10 hours to survive. About the Author
“Vanya Jha is currently pursuing her B Tech in Computer Science & Engineering at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. Her book of short stories, entitled Sampann Muluk ra Anya Kathaharu, had won the best book award in the year 2005 by International Nepali Literary Society (INLS), USA. She has also published the English version of this story-book in 2007 with support from Sikkim Science Society. Several of her stories and articles have appeared in national dailies and children’s magazines as well.
Ajeya Jha currently heads the Department of Management Studies at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. His seventy stories have been published in national dailies and magazines. He also has deep interest in anthropological studies on ethnic tribes residing in the Northeast India. “
